| One of the most beautiful baths to have survived from the Turkish period (16th century). The establishment sustained severe damage during WWII, and only reopened in 1959. The waters are indicated for chronic spinal and articular complaints, but effective for inflammatory spiral diseases, too. The composition of water is calcium-hydrogen-magnesium-carbonate, the hotter springs contain fluoride, sulphur and chloride. |

| Rudas Baths, a thermal bath was built in the 16th century, by Pasha of Buda Sokoli Mustapha, since when it has been operated virtually unchanged to this day.The baths are fed by 3 famous springs: Juventus, Attila and Hungaria and 15 smallersprings.The lightly radioactive,calcium-magnesium-hydrogen-carbonate waters contain sulphates and fluoride. The water of the Juventus spring that can be utiliyed as bath form has rejuvenating effects, hence the name. |

| Szechenyi Baths |

| The central section of the bath was started in 1909. The complex was ceremonially opened in 1913. In 1927 a strand and a swimming pool were added making it that time's Europe largest spa centre, and it is still one of the largests. The most attractive part of the complex is the cupola hall at the main entrance. decorated with beautiful glass mosaics. Just a few meters from the building one comes across the pump room, supplying cooled water direct from the springs. |

| There are 2 buildings located in the picturesque Margaret Island. These are connected by an underground corridor and share the medical facilities. The open-air swimming pool was established in 1949, and gets its water supply from Beke well. Since 1969 thermal waters piped from Szechenyi Baths provide the opportunity for a wide range of medicinal care for articular diseases and injury-recoveries. The spa and swimming pool complex has recently been totally rebuilt providing the most modern pools and other water facilities of Budapest. The history of the baths goes back to the time of King Sigismund. The domed pool was built during the Turkish era. The baths were significantly rebuilt and developed in 1869 according to the designs of Miklós Ybl. The thermal baths are especially popular, many locals take the waters for their believed therapeutic benefits. Address: I., Budapest, Hadnagy utca 8-10 Westminster in London. Like so much along the Pest bank of the Danube, the best view are actually from across the river (especially from Batthyany ter). Guided tours are available when parliament is not in session (go to Gate X to the right of the main entrance). |

The name of the spa was given by the Konig family who owned the building from 1796. The impressive baths is a rare survival of Turkish times in Hungary and today as a listed building it represents an early Ottoman baths palace in its original grandeur. The four pools, including the main with a fantastic skylit dome date from 1570. It is supplied with thermal water piped from the Lukacs Baths. |
