Gellert Baths
Budapest's most famous baths, and one of the symbols of the city. The medical springs of the site have been utilized for 2000 years. This building was erected during WWI. This is one the very few baths in Europe built in Art Nouveu style. The water is taken from more than 10 springs. The baths are combined with the world famous Gellert-Hotel, which offers its guests a full range of services.

Kiraly Baths
One of the most beautiful baths to have survived from the Turkish period (16th century). The establishment sustained severe damage during WWII, and only reopened in 1959. The waters are indicated for chronic spinal and articular complaints, but effective for inflammatory spiral diseases, too. The composition of water is calcium-hydrogen-magnesium-carbonate, the hotter springs contain fluoride, sulphur and chloride..

Rudas Baths
Rudas Baths, a thermal bath was built in the 16th century, by Pasha of Buda Sokoli Mustapha, since when it has been operated virtually unchanged to this day.The baths are fed by 3 famous springs: Juventus, Attila and Hungaria and 15 smallersprings.The lightly radioactive,calcium-magnesium-hydrogen-carbonate waters contain sulphates and fluoride. The water of the Juventus spring that can be utiliyed as bath form has rejuvenating effects, hence the name.

Szechenyi Baths
The central section of the bath was started in 1909. The complex was ceremonially opened in 1913. In 1927 a strand and a swimming pool were added making it that time's Europe largest spa centre, and it is still one of the largests. The most attractive part of the complex is the cupola hall at the main entrance. decorated with beautiful glass mosaics. Just a few meters from the building one comes across the pump room, supplying cooled water direct from the springs.

Danubius Thermal Hotel
There are 2 buildings located in the picturesque Margaret Island. These are connected by an underground corridor and share the medical facilities. Picture shows the Danubius Thermal Hotel, which is a modern building designed by Finnish architects. It offers fitness options in addition to the medical equipments. It takes the water supply from thermal springs on the island. The Hungarian Olimpic champions club meets here regularly. the Grand Hotel offers a special advantage: its in-house trained doctors are complemented by specialists who can be called on a wide variety of areas eg neurosurgery, sport surgery, cardiology, etc.
Named after St Luke, Lukacs Spa is one of the most attractive of the 19th-century bathing establishments with friendly staff and pleasant surroundings. The complex comprises the 16th-century Csaszar thermal baths and two outdoor swimming pools. Natural hot springs keep these pools heated all year around, allowing locals and tourists alike to bathe in comfort eve in winter time. Both the thermal baths and the swimming pools are favorite meeting place for writers and artists. You can walk around and relax in the huge park, and even drink curative waters in the drinking hall. The comprehensive physiotherapy unit (day hospital) deserves special emphasis from among all the services of the spa. Sun roof open in summer.

Dagaly Spa and Swimming Pool
The open-air swimming pool was established in 1949, and gets its water supply from Beke well. Since 1969 thermal waters piped from Szechenyi Baths provide the opportunity for a wide range of medicinal care for articular diseases and injury-recoveries. The spa and swimming pool complex has recently been totally rebuilt providing the most modern pools and other water facilities of Budapest. With its 12 pools and the picturesque surroundings the establishment is popular among all ages in both summer and winter.

Lukacs Baths and Swimming Pool
One of the most relaxing way to spend your vacation in Budapest is to sightsee one half of the day and then soak, take a steam bath and enjoy a massage at a thermal spa the other half. Budapest is blessed with some 123 thermal and more than 400 mineral springs come from 14 different sources.Budapest has also nearly 50 baths, supplied by natural medicinal springs or drilled thermal wells. Some have been known for nearly 2 thousands years, others were built around 1900. The use of mineral waters for treatment of various problems goes back to ancient times, when the Romans developed places for taking a cure around existing mineral springs. Spas in East and Central-Europe, particularly in Hungary are very popular for alleviating various ailments. Budapest is one of the oldest spas in Europe. The Romans built the first bath houses in Budapest, but it was during the 150-year Turkish occupation 400 years ago that bath culture truly flourished.

Rac Baths
The history of the baths goes back to the time of King Sigismund. The domed pool was built during the Turkish era. The baths were significantly rebuilt and developed in 1869 according to the designs of Miklós Ybl. The thermal baths are especially popular, many locals take the waters for their believed therapeutic benefits. Address: I., Budapest, Hadnagy utca 8-10 Westminster in London. Like so much along the Pest bank of the Danube, the best view are actually from across the river (especially from Batthyany ter). Guided tours are available when parliament is not in session (go to Gate X to the right of the main entrance).

King Baths
The name of the spa was given by the Konig family who owned the building from 1796. The impressive baths is a rare survival of Turkish times in Hungary and today as a listed building it represents an early Ottoman baths palace in its original grandeur. The four pools, including the main with a fantastic skylit dome date from 1570. It is supplied with thermal water piped from the Lukacs Baths.
